Mercedes GP Formula 1 drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg will help present Mercedes’ new C-Class Coupe based race car that will compete in the 2012 season of Germany’s DTM touring car series.

The presentation will take place at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show on September 13, though you can get a sneak preview of the new race car in the video below, which also features Mercedes DTM driver Gary Paffett.

Joining Schumacher and Rosberg, will be Paffett, as well as Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche and Mercedes-Benz Motorsports chief Norbert Haug.

The new 2012 DTM AMG Mercedes C-Coupe, as it’s officially titled, will compete against a new A5 race car being prepped by Audi as well as a BMW M3 DTM racer. You may recall that BMW is returning to the series after leaving it in the mid-1990s to focus on more international events.

American readers should take note that a race series featuring these DTM cars is reportedly being prepped for North America for a 2013 start.

Visit waltsmb.com to find your Mercedes-Benz today

An independent designer has released his take on what he believes the next Brabus Rocket will look like.

On the heels of last week's official teaser from Brabus of their new vehicle debuting at the International Auto Show in Germany, we have received a rendering made by an independent artist who recognized the CLS from the headlamps and mirrors. The Brabus Rocket first appeared back in 2005 and was the German tuners fastest sedan. It was based on that year's Benz CLS AMG. Designer Dan Buzdugan sees this second generation CLS as the heir to the Rocket.

He has released his own unofficial take on what the new car might look like. The original Rocket packed a 6.3-liter biturbo V12 engine that put out 720hp.This is what Buzdugan believes the new model will look like. Brabus will unveil their new car at the 2011 Frankfurt International Auto Show later this month.
